CDC Preschool Reps: Meeting with Wendy Kelly and ??; inclusion for preschool
Clifford Reps: Move-a-thon: well attended; PTO put in quite a bit of work to make it successful; a lot of testing; teachers are beginning to think of classes for next year; Definitely the end of the year, middle school kids had a lot fun at the Move-a-thon; getting ready for testing next week. Getting ready for 8th grade activities.
Garfield Reps: middle of transitioning with our students because no longer k-8; field day for Dia de los Ninos; Admin. gave minimum day on Friday for Teacher Appreciation; 8th grade for one more year.
Henry Ford Reps: End of the year: testing; big fundraiser: baskets, teachers raffle off an item; leadership team brainstorm for next year; school talent show for the kids - nice to see the different talents.
Hoover Reps:
Kennedy Reps: Band musical was a hit. Skating night a week ago Friday. Parent in RWC who owns skating equipment…might offer to other RCSD school. Chaperone policy change for Great America - need to one adult over 21 for every 10 students.
McKinley Reps: Lost Asst Principal - Split between Taft or MIT. Love the Assistant Principal. Two meetings this week; for May staff have 4 meetings. Admin led training; Testing; Teachers would love grade level meetings to help students have in common.
North Star Reps: Starting CAASPP testing; Principal, VP, and Office Adminstrators will be leaving next year
Orion Reps: Principal had to leave for the rest of the year. Looking to find a sub for her. Asst Principal was out today; usual end of the year stuff.
Roosevelt Reps: Testing; starting to sort classes for next year; behavior is ramping up; middle school having some issues with behavior; TK-5 and 8th; Variety Show and then Open House the following week;
Roy Cloud Reps:
SLP: Everything is good.
Taft Reps: Kids are feeling spring fever and teachers are too. A few teachers out where there are not enough subs. Admin helps cover. 4th and 5th grade teacher wanted clarification for Prep Time. Don’t always get consistent coverage because the PE doesn’t start right away and then if the credentialed PE teacher is absent, one teacher has to cover. Conferences to minimum days? Minimum days mean different things to different schools. Does everyone get the same amount of release time for the conference? Special Ed/RSP Teachers are overwhelmed with testing and workload.
Erinn: **All schools were supposed to hire a certified music or STEAM teacher.
